December Countdown Calendar

For the month of December I decided to make Kate's teacher a count down frame till "Winter Break".  When I was young we called it Christmas Break but now we have to be so PC.  I had extra fabric brads from the project so I put the frame in a canvas bag and made flowers out of scrap Christmas fabric and put the extra brads in the middle of the flowers.

Stay tuned...I'm starting my 12 days of Christmas for someone special soon!  I'll post pictures of each days gift!

November Acorns

Happy November! I decided for Kate's November teacher gift I made acorns out of donut holes. It was super easy! I bought chocolate icing, gold and brown sprinkles, and pretzel sticks. I spread icing on the top of the donut holes and dipped them in the sprinkles then stuck a tiny piece of pretzel stick in the top to make it look like an acorn. Shipley's gave me a baker's dozen. I stuck 24 acorns in a cupcake box and broke my diet and ate the last 2!

A New Tradition

This year I've decided I'm going to start a new tradition of picking someone in my life to give something for each day. I'm going to do the 12 days of Christmas and start on December 13th. Maybe you will be my lucky friend?!!

Ribbon Topiaries

I had these two styrofoam topiaries that I bought at Hobby Lobby for Julia's birthday and decided to make Halloween ribbon balls. I just stuck the topiaries in pots that I painted black. I added 5 rolls of different Halloween ribbon for each one that I bought at Hobby Lobby. These are so easy to make. Just cut each piece of ribbon to 4" in length. Make in a loop and stick in the styrofoam with a pin!

TGIF

Thank Goodness it's Fall!
I made a Fall/Halloween basket for Kate's teacher. I do small teacher gifts for each month. I made the labels myself, stuck hand sanitizer, candy corn, air freshener and stamps and pads from the dollar bin at Joann fabrics. I think she liked it!
